长沙是湖南省省会，是全省的政治、经济、文化中心。位于湖南省中东部，属于亚热带季风性湿润气候，四季分明，年平均气温 16.8～17.2℃，年平均总降水量1422.4毫米，总面积11819平方公里，其中城市面积556.33平方公里，辖五区、三县、一市，总人口587万人。

雨花区位于长沙市区东南部，下辖7个街道办事处、1个乡、1个镇、1个环保科技产业园，总面积115平方公里，人口80万，其中常住人口57万。

Introduction to Basic Situation
Changsha is the provincial capital of Hunan and the political, economic and cultural center of the whole province. Located in the central east part of Hunan province, Changsha is in the semitropical monsoon moisture climate, enjoys clearly-demarcated four seasons, has an annual average air temperature of 16.8～17.2℃ and an annual rainfall of 1,422.4mm, covers a total area of 11,819km2 including an urban area of 556.33km2, has a jurisdiction over 5 districts, 3 counties and 1 county-level city, with a total population of 5.87 million.
As an ancient city with a history of 3,000 years, Changsha is one of the 24 famous historical and cultural cities and the first batch of top-notch tourist cities published by the State Council.
